Bartlett Mall + Maudslay Park Family Portrait Session

A Bartlett Mall + Maudslay Park family portrait session double feature! We’ve really been enjoying an extended foliage season this year, with pockets of trees here in the North Shore still holding onto their color and making for vibrant portrait session backdrops well into November.

With this family, we first stopped in Maudslay Park in Newburyport, which is always a reliable favorite of mine for photo sessions all year round. We then made a stop at historic Bartlett Mall closer to downtown, and what I like about this location, is that it’s terraced with walking paths set on different levels. And with a few of these paths positioned at the same elevation as some of the tree tops, you can frame your subjects level with a full background of foliage rather than just having the color always at the top of the image.
