BOSTON + GLOUCESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Just North of Boston, Beauport Hotel Gloucester is a beautiful oceanfront wedding venue and one of my favorite properties to photograph! With its gorgeous views of the beach and waterfront on one side and the quaint seaside surroundings of Gloucester on the other, Beauport offers couples a spacious location for celebrating with family and friends against a picturesque backdrop that makes for some wonderful imagery. Most couples choose to wed on the deck overlooking the bay, and when Mother Nature cooperates, the evening serves up a fabulous sunset you won’t want to miss. If you’re seeking a Boston beach or oceanside wedding, I definitely recommend visiting Beauport.

Maggie & Brad have always been so pleasant to work with, first during a couple’s session with their fur baby, followed by an engagement shoot, and now their wedding. And with each of our collaborations, they appreciate why I reserve a window of time following the shoot to process and edit the images before delivery. Yes, some photographers will deliver the images immediately with minimal to no post-processing, which is fine if you are drawn to their style. But for myself and other photographers, we follow in the footsteps of film photography: the image is first taken with the camera and then made in the darkroom, or these days, in a computer lightroom. The photos are not complete without that second step. Images are adjusted for color, contrast, and tone, and most importantly, are fine-tuned to reflect the aesthetic style as seen in my portfolio. Being this is a hand-crafted process and not outsourced, finishing the images can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the season (summer & fall are busiest), length of shoot, size of group, lighting, and location. It’s an important part of your investment, and in the grand scheme, good things do come to those who wait!
