Castle Hill On The Crane Estate Engagement Session
BOSTON ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER
I first met M & B during an autumn couple’s portrait session in Newburyport’s Maudslay Park. When M & B reconnected to share the news of their recent engagement and desire to reunite for another session, I couldn’t have been happier to work with them again! M & B chose Castle Hill On The Crane Estate for their engagement session, the well-known picturesque property overlooking the Atlantic in Ipswich, MA. With its period architecture, Italian gardens, manicured grounds, and secluded beachfront, The Crane Estate is the perfect location for both elegant and informal engagement pictures. Though a popular tourist destination, the property’s spacious grounds still allow for plenty of privacy for a couple’s engagement session.
To use the Crane Estate for engagement pictures, you’re required to contact The Trustees of Reservations to book a scheduled block of time for a fee. As your photographer, I coordinate with you to book a mutually available time on both my calendar and the estate’s. For M & B, we scheduled a 90 minute slot in late afternoon, when the natural light is at its best for photography, but not too late in the day, because certain areas of the rolling estate tend to fall into shadow sooner than others. We saved Steep Hill Beach at the tail end of the estate for last, knowing it would still be plenty bright — and a great spot to let loose after spending our afternoon exploring the formal grounds on the hill.
If you’re curious about arranging a Crane Estate engagement session at Castle Hill — or another location that is meaningful to you and your relationship — please do get in touch. M & B, thank you again for choosing to work with me. I very much look forward to celebrating with you at your wedding!
