Salisbury Beach Engagement Proposal Photography
NEWBURYPORT BOSTON ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Where was I going to “hide”? After all, this was to be a proposal that I would be photographing on the beach, and I certainly didn’t want to give away the surprise standing nearby with my 70-200mm lens. But looking back on previous proposals I’ve photographed, I remembered that being completely out of sight isn’t that important at all — because as a proposal unfolds, the couple becomes so engrossed with each other and their moment, the world around them (and any photographer!) fades away.
K. did an amazing job planning for this day. He enlisted friends to arrive early at Salisbury Beach, creating a heart in the sand with rose pedals, punctuated with four tiki torches. We planned for the proposal to take place just shy of sunset, so that I could photograph with the best of light. And what an amazing display of light and colors in the sky we had that early evening.
As K. strolled with his girlfriend, A., up the beach to that heart in the sand, I pretended to take pictures of the ocean. No need to hide. It was a beautiful moment, shared by A’s family watching from an overlook up in the dunes. K. & A., congratulations again, and thank you so very much for inviting me to be your engagement proposal photographer!
