GLOUCESTER CAPE ANN FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION PHOTOGRAPHER

As summer ends and we approach our first day of fall, the calendar for outdoor portrait sessions is filling up fast. Whether for a senior or family, September through November is a popular time of year for natural light portrait photography, and it’s best to book your session at least two weeks in advance to ensure a spot for the season. And though the days are getting cooler, the beach is still a wonderful location for portraits.

While visiting Massachusetts, this family made the most of their reunion with a portrait session in Annisquam. I’ve photographed several sessions in Gloucester this year, and the variety of beautiful locations in the area never disappoints. For this session, not only did we have access to a quiet beach cove, but we also enjoyed a sun-kissed field overlooking the Annisquam Harbor Light Station on Wigwam Point. We spent an hour together — always recommended for larger groups so everyone has a chance in front of the camera with their individual families without feeling hurried.
