Beacon Hill Acorn Street Family Portrait Session
BOSTON FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
After enjoying their couple’s portrait session at Wingaersheek Beach this past summer, L&J invited me to photograph their family while visiting town for the holidays. They would all rent a limousine and spend the day exploring Boston, first kicking off their city adventure with their family portrait session in beautiful Beacon Hill.
Acorn Street in Beacon Hill is one of the most photographed streets in America. It’s been said up to 2,000 visitors might pass through on an autumn weekend. This little alleyway is classic old Boston: colonial cobblestones, aged brickwork, gas-lit lamps. The crisp morning air and winter shadows paired perfectly with the warm, rich tones of the architecture, and I don’t think L&J could have picked a better spot to capture the spirt of their Beantown day trip.
If you’re ever visiting Boston, do be sure to check out Beacon Hill. Keep in mind, Acorn Street is a private throughway, though the residents understand the location is popular with photographers and are welcoming to shutterbugs and tourists who respect the space. One benefit of shooting here in the cold season — it makes for great crowd control!
