Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Engagement Proposal
BOSTON ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Nestled in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay Fens, The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum — with its stunning architecture, eclectic art collection, and vibrant gardens — makes for a wonderful afternoon activity no matter the occasion. But after a memorable day touring the many galleries with his girlfriend, Andrew concluded their visit to the Garnder in a unique way: by surprising her with a proposal. Despite the scale and bustle of the the museum, it was a wonderfully quiet and private exchange respectful of the public space, and a particularly meaningful one given the Gardner museum is a place that celebrates and preserves special moments in time.
Following the engagement proposal, we departed the tropical gardens of the museum courtyard and strolled over to the nearby Back Bay Fens, where a fresh blanket of snow from the night before turned the park into a winter wonderland. This is why wintertime engagement sessions can be so fantastic in Boston — despite the chilly weather , there are still plenty of spots in the city that make for interesting seasonal backdrops and cozy pictures. Even with the rain, clear umbrellas are a photographer’s best friend because they let the light in while keeping you close and dry!
Another tip I recommend for winter engagement sessions is to layer up with thermals underneath your camera-facing wardrobe. This way, you can wear a lighter jacker or sweater and still be comfortable if the temperature isn’t as mild as you’d hoped.
For those considering an engagement in Boston, please reach out to to me if you could use some guidance on the planning or deciding on the location. A successful collaboration begins much sooner than the day of the proposal, and I’m happy to help you make your big surprise everything you hope it will be!
